The potential of chopsticks

Japanese designer Nendo decided there are a lot more ways to look at chopsticks. He designed a collection of chopsticks for Hashikura Matsukan, a company known for producing the most beautiful japanese chopsticks. The chopsticks in Nendo’s collection are not only beautiful, but also slightly different from your regular chopstick. For instance there are the ‘hanataba’ sticks. By their pleated cross-section, they respond to the fact that regular chopsticks are sometimes slippery to handle. Also there are the ‘sukima’ sticks, which focus on the world of patterned chopsticks, by creating the pattern within the utensils instead of applying them to the surface.
